Reef Rum Nights at the Reef on Commercial Drive
Come enjoy the Caribbean’s favourite libation and immerse yourself in the ever expanding world of rum.
VANCOUVER, BC – Every Sunday starting January 3, 2010 until April 25, 2010, enjoy a complimentary sampling of our featured rum between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and feature cocktails all night long. Within these 17 weeks, enjoy 17 different, premium rums from throughout the Caribbean.
This past June, the Reef on the Drive teamed up with Rum Runner Imports to create the first of, what were until recently, monthly Reef Rum Nights. The purpose was twofold: to increase brand visibility of rums currently offered at the Reef by featuring different rums every month and, secondly, to educate the staff and guests on the large and diverse world of rum. Local agents were given the opportunity to visit our guests while at their tables, presenting samplings of their product and offering consumer information. Agents were also asked to speak to the staff and other rum aficionados in attendance in a more in-depth manner regarding tasting notes, the history and distillation process at out education table.
Due to overwhelming response, the format was changed from monthly happenings to a seventeen week in-depth event. Participants include Doorly’s XO, Appletons, Old Sam’s, Havana Club 7, Sailor Jerry’s, Flor de Cana and much more. Additionally, our selection of both traditional and Caribbean-inspired dishes is the perfect accompaniment for this featured spirit.
